Mission Mars Space Center Houston 1

CLIENT: Space Center Houston
Houston, TX

DESCRIPTION: Illustrating USA’s commitment to building lasting relationships, our design partner from the very successful SPAM Museum requested that we complete design specifications, fabrication and installation of the new Mission Mars exhibit at the nonprofit Space Center Houston. The facility is a leading science and space learning center and the Official Visitor Center of Johnson Space Center; NASA’s center for human spaceflight activities. The new major exhibit explores what it takes to travel to Mars, the hardware that will get us to the fourth planet in our solar system and how humans may live and conduct research on the red planet in future decades.

It’s set in an environmental Mars rock landscape, and includes mechanical and digital interactives, scenic structures and casework, media, and graphics. Some of the highlights are the full-scale Orion capsule simulator, Life on Mars, Rocket Testing, Radiation, and Landing Map interactives, as well as displays of a 45-foot-tall SLS Rocket scale model, full-scale Orion research model, and an actual 9-ton RS-25 Engine.
