Cellophane House Newy York MoMA Home Delivery Show 2

CLIENT: KieranTimberlake Architects

DESCRIPTION: The New York Museum of Modern Art selected KieranTimberlake as one of five architects, from over 400 entries, to display their vision for the future of prefabricated housing. USA built a scale model for KieranTimberlake to enter their concept into the competition. Once they won a spot in the show, we worked with them to prototype construction methods of using PET wall panels with photo-voltaic solar collectors to power lighting inside the house. Once we developed an efficient production method, we fabricated the wall panels and solar collectors for installation at the NY MoMA. Our production process was also filmed by the Discovery Channel for a program on sustainable design!

Winner of the 2009 BSA Sustainable Design Award for Reusability of Materials and Components
