William Portner Exhibit

CLIENT: Eastern State Penitentiary
Philadelphia, PA

DESCRIPTION:

Eastern State Penitentiary is a historic site, turned interpretive space and art installation venue, located in the heart of Philadelphia. This exhibit space is located next to a restored synagogue, and highlights the story of discovery and renovation through objects and artifacts, and also through documentation of prisoner life during the years that it was in operation. USA incorporated design details and finishes from the historic synagogue into the new displays, and our fabrication included custom cabinetry, interpretive graphics, object display cases, and custom artifact mounts. We also worked with Eastern State to develop an interactive area called a “mitzvah”, where visitors can share good deed they have done, or good deeds done for them by others.

"We just had a great experience with USA. They ran ahead of schedule and were always a step ahead of me in seeing problems before they arose. A really great team." - Sean Kelley, Senior Vice President/Director of Public Programming and PR, Eastern State Penitentiary Historic Site
