Stepping Stones Museum for Children

Conservation Quest

Location: Norwalk, CT

The Conservation Quest traveling exhibit educates kids about energy use. USA created three traveling units on wind, solar, and water powered energy. Visitors use a crank to power the light, wind or water in each exhibit, showing the direct connection between energy input and output. During the design process, we prototyped different payoffs once a visitor creates enough energy, and built custom cranks that would hold up to kids and shipping!

These small exhibits are displayed on their own shipping crates, so there is no extra storage required by the host museum, and no waste in packaging during travel.
